While taking care of your little one is probably one of the best and special experiences of your lifetime it can be equally challenging, especially if you are a first-time parent. There would be times when you may not know what to do, or have your own doubts in certain circumstances. Make sure you keep your little one warm:
Newborns need to be kept warm, especially for the first few months. After every bath ensure that you dry your baby well with a clean cloth and cover him or her completely from head to toe. When your baby is resting, place him on your abdomen to give him or her the warmth. Also ensure that you cover your child with a clean and soft blanket.

Let your baby breathe well:
Make sure that you let your little one breathe well. The mucous present in the mouth and nose needs to be cleaned well which shall help in proper breathing. You can use a nose aspirator to clean the babies’ nose.

Understanding Breastfeeding:
Breast feeding can be a tasking affair for some mother’s whilst other mother’s breeze through it. If you’re having trouble breast feeding do not be dishearten every woman’s anatomy is different. Also, every baby is different some babies feed more, some don’t, some take longer feeds some take shorter feeds. It all depends on your child’s needs. Being aware of these needs and signals when your baby is hungry are to be observed .Generally a new born feeds at regular intervals of every 2-3 hour. Any concerns if your child is feeding enough please consult your child’s pediatrician.

Cleaning the umbilical cord:
Sterilizing the umbilical cord and drying it well is extremely important. Cleaning it well shall help in preventing problems such as infection or bacterial growth which may cause health issues.

Lack of vitamins:
Newborn babies usually lack in certain Vitamins like vitamin K. In cases like these, doctors or pediatricians may recommend giving your child an injection of vitamin K. This also helps in preventing the hemorrhagic disease in kids.

Learn to be patient:
New-born babies are extremely sensitive and hence offering immediate care to them is neccessary. You need to be extremely diligent when taking care of your little one and need to ensure that you do not panic or lose your calm.

Ask Questions:
These early days of your baby’s life can be stressful to new parents and it is important that you ask your doctor any questions you might have, don’t feel shy or embarrassed to ask a question even if you feel it might be silly or common sense.
